What you will get from taking this online workshop:

  • Knowledge of how to work with gouache and pencil
  • Experience mixing different skin-tones
  • An understanding of how to paint body postures
  • A meaningful piece of art
  • Elephant Academy Takeaway Technique: The chance to express yourself by creating your own tattoos

Create a meaningful piece of art inspired by the things that are important to you. In this two-hour workshop you will paint a human figure and design tattoos to add to their skin. Body art is often a way to collect memories, in this workshop you can express yourself through individual, personal designs for future tattoos.

Tutor Aniek Bartels will teach you to mix different skin-tones and paint body postures. You will also learn how to work with mixed media, using gouache and pencil to create a work of art with unique significance. You will be able to experiment with different materials and the group will discuss tattoo ideas based on objects you have collected at home. By the end of the workshop, you will have created a meaningful piece of art for your wall.

I don’t live in the UK – can I still join one of the classes? Absolutely! We welcome students from all over the world and many of our classes are held at times to suit students in Europe and North America.

Is there a recording I can watch after the class? Yes, we can supply recordings to allow you to develop your skills and revisit the classes.
