This workshop is held on Thursday 3 February from 7.00pm to 9:30pm (BST) and is suitable for students of beginner ability or students who wish to refresh their knowledge and skill. Students outside the UK are welcome!

Get to know gouache in this introductory workshop. Sharing similar qualities with watercolour, gouache is water-based but leaves a more opaque finish. Easily blended, it can be reactivated with water, making it a great choice for beginners. Discover how it has been used by artists from the past and present, while learning an array of different techniques to produce exciting paintings. Luke will guide you through mixing colours, choosing papers and getting the most out of your gouache paints.

This workshop is intended to introduce the techniques of gouache painting to students. If you feel more comfortable using gouache paint in an intermediate setting, we recommend signing up to Luke’s feature workshop: Uncovering a Personal Landscape
